Released on Strictly limited-edition Trans Red 7" Vinyl (200 copies only). Laid Blak were created after producer DJ Bunjy joined forces with MC Joe Peng to conquer the 90's jungle and rave scenes. The duo's musical direction took a course that has led them to seek out some of Bristol's finest reggae and jungle musicians. What started as a studio project has evolved into an acclaimed live act - Laid Blak. Their first 12" record "Scream and Shout" went bouncing up the playlists on BBC 1 Xtra and Kiss FM. 'Chasing Shadows' remix of 'Red', has received well over 4.5 million YouTube views and has proved to be an obvious favourite when performed live! Laid Blak were signed to Brown Punk Records, a record label set up by Tricky and Chris Blackwell (who founded Island Records and introduced the world to Bob Marley). The band released their debut album Red & Blak in 2012 and have gone on to release a further four albums. Now in 2024, Sugar Shack Records in partnership with X-AMNT release a limited edition 7" vinyl single of the title track from the Red & Black album - RED. The track is a firm live favourite and a Ganja smoking reggae anthem for the festival going public - 'My eyes are red, I been Burning!' "When Laid Blak serve up reggae, it is a dish featuring a diverse mix of flavours. Dancehall and roots nestle up to ska with a smattering of hip-hop, jungle, bhangra and soul." The live set has roots in urban reggae and drum & bass, touches of jazz, funk & dubstep. The 'good vibes' shine through in all their songs and they always steal the show at festivals. The AA side of the seven inch is a jungle remix by DJ Bunjy and DJ Kickback's side project X-AMNT and is the start of a series of remixes featuring Joe Burn, Traffic MC, Subcriminal and Subtle Element to name but a few.
